Oh well....
I did not make either show, but missed them for a good reason. Me and my family were able to get a lot of work done at my parent's house. It looks like I will be trying to get my garage back in order soon so look for new pics and progress soon!

POWER!
Well late last night i got power back at the house. Means i can get the garage back in order and get back out working on the Beetle. I hope to make it to 2 shows this weekend, the V-Dubs and Texas Nights show on Saturday night and the Volks in the Village show on Sunday. Both should have a swap meet so i might find a few things. I will post some pics for all to see.

Back from Ike....
Well the family, house, and 72 Super are ok. My parents house did not fair quite as well as ome 2 foot of sea water flowed into their home due to the storm surge from Ike. So my mom, dad, and brother are living in my house. I am not sure the next time I will be working on the bug, but i hope soon!

Ike
It looks like Hurricane Ike is coming our way, and my zip code has a mandatory evac...
The car is in no shape to move, so I will take as many pics as I can and hope for the best.

Rust, rebuild, and bondo...OH MY!
Well my Dad and I did some work on the VW this weekend....
I pulled the fuel tank, and we get a good look at the original color of the car.

She is up on jack stands with all for wheels pulled off.

Rear driver's side, nice and shiny valve cover! :)

Front driver's side, when all is done a set of loweing struts will take home here.

Hood damage, most likely going to replace it.

Bondo trying to hide the hood damage....booooo.

Battery tray rust....surprise surprise.

The underside of the tray....

Engine minus the carb.....

The carb...needs to be cleaned...

More to come.....

So what do i want?
Here is an idea of what i want the 72 to look like when i am done.

Lowered Blue and White, t-bars, white walls, painted/powdercoated stockers, black interior.
Speaking of interior, i am thinking of ditching the stock seats for some low backs. Not 100% yet.
I hope to do some work on here this weekend, after we get the other half of the garage cleaned out.

Got her home....
Got her home and did a little cleaning on her. Next weekend's plan is to make some room so we can start to take her apart.
